The impacts of drought are often not immediately noticeable. Sometimes it might take a few years for the impacts to be seen in individual trees.

As the drought conditions worsen across Arkansas and other areas of the South, more and more trees seem to be changing color early.

Some forest management practices may help prepare your woodlands to better cope with future weather extremes.

The Legislative Research Librarians section of the National Conference of State Legislatures will present the Notable Documents award to Angela Gupta and Julie Miedtke of the University of Minnesota Extension for the 

“Profitable Farms and Woodlands” was suggested by limited resource farmers and woodland owners who met twice in focus groups in Birmingham, AL, and Atlanta, GA, with a team of agroforestry experts to produce this much needed practical guide in Agroforestry.
