
Blue Hill Heritage Trust, Great Pond Mountain Conservancy, and Maine Woodlot Owners Downeast Chapter are offering a Forestry 101 comprehensive short co-ed course in the Spring of 2023 for small woodlot owners, or for anyone who would like to learn about the forests of eastern Maine. The course will comprise of 6 four hour sessions, both indoors and in the field. The indoors portion of the course will be located at the Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery in Orland, Maine and the outdoor sessions will be location on BHHT and GPMT land in Orland, Ellsworth, and the Blue Hill Peninsular. This detailed course will cover the principles, techniques, and practices used to manage forests in eastern Maine and will be taught by three experienced foresters.
