Laurie Schoonhoven

Laurie grew up playing in the woods and stream near her home in Pennsylvania. Her love of nature and desire to sustain it for future generations led to a Masters degree in Forest Resources from Penn State. Laurie joined the Forest Service in 2014 where she works with federal, state and non-profit partners to educate and provide assistance to woodland owners. Prior to joining the Forest Service, she worked for Penn State Natural Resources Extension where she used her collaboration skills at the national, regional and local level to promote natural resource conservation.
