After a year of virtual meet-ups, we’re very excited to announce an in-person gathering this October!
WOW member Katie Campbell has invited the group to her property in Hannacroix, NY. Katie’s woodlot includes several features she’s happy to introduce other WOW members to, including invasive species-eating goats, a shiitake laying yard, a small maple sugaring operation, and more!
The day will start with a tour of the property, move on to a bring-your-own picnic lunch, and conclude with a round of stewardship work. We plan to use this time to learn more about agroforestry and woodlot management options, to get to know one another better, and to get our hands dirty!
Here’s what you need to know:
When: Saturday, October 2nd at 10:00am to approximately 3:30pm (rain date of Sunday, October 3rd)
Where: Hannacroix, NY 12087
What to bring: Comfortable clothes and materials for a day in the woods (sturdy shoes, bug spray, etc.), water, and a bagged lunch to eat picnic-style.
This event is hosted by Women Owning Woods- Catskills | Hudson Valley. We are a group of women landowners and natural resource professionals from the Catskills and the Hudson Valley region of New York. We've organized this group as a way to foster learning experiences and discussions about forest property.
