
Women's Game of Logging course at Merck Forest and Farmland in Rupert, Vermont. Saturday and Sunday, May 15-16, 2021.
Merck Forest and Farmland Center, a 3,200+ acre educational environmental non-profit located in Rupert, Vermont, is partnering with Northeast Woodland Training to provide a women's only Game of Logging Levels 1 & 2 on May 15 & 16, as well as co-ed Game of Logging Levels 3 & 4.
Registration for Game of Logging Levels 1 & 2 are combined. Game of Logging Level 1, (Saturday, May 15), focuses on precision felling techniques, while Level 2, (Sunday, May 16), will focus on Maximizing Saw Performance. Level 1 is required before taking Level 2, but the Basic course is not required for Level 1. (People interested in ONLY 1 LEVEL should contact MFFC at [email protected] to be placed on a waitlist for single course availability.
For those who have completed Levels 1 & 2, MFFC is also offering co-ed Game of Logging Level 3 & 4, on June 5 and 6, which focus on Limbing, Bucking, and Difficult Trees (L3) and Storm Damage Clean-up (L4).
Pre-registration is required. To register, go to our shop at https://www.merckforest.org/product/adult-programming/ Space is limited, and Covid-19 protocols will be in place. Participants must bring their own personal protective equipment, including a sound hard hat, chaps, and hearing/eye protection, but a chainsaw is not necessary. Minimum age is 18 years. Course fees: $200 per level / $180 for members. (Memberships for MFFC are $50/year). All classes start at 8:00a and run until approximately 4:30.
For people traveling a distance, camping is available on our farm, free of charge.
