My Favorite Tool in the Woods

Event Date
Individual using a chainsaw to cut a log into firewood.

LocationMinneapolis Saw, 831 40th Ave. NE, Columbia Heights, 763-781-9312. Web:  http://minneapolissaw.com/.  They are south of I-694 on Hwy 65 (Central Avenue) to 40th Ave.

As we all get ready to head into our woods and gardens, bring your favorite tool. We will share how we use it and maintain it. Bring sharpening files, tool oil, gloves and paper towels/wipes, etc. if you’d like to take this opportunity to get your tools ready (thanks to  all that we learned from Donna Herman's tool class a few years ago!).  We’ll also discuss favorite sources for tools and information, best pruning practices and general tool safety. This is hands-on sharing at its best!

The best part is we’ll meet at Minneapolis Saw in their classroom, so if you have attended a women’s chainsaw safety class (or not) and have questions about chainsaws, PPE equipment or need any additional information regarding chainsaws or other power tools, this is the place to go!  Feel free to bring your saw (gas removed) for review with other MNWWN members or staff at Minneapolis Saw. They are staying open late to accommodate us, so let’s show them that woods women know and love their tools!

Dinner:  For anyone who would like to have dinner ahead of time, meet at 5:00 at Filfillah Middle Eastern Restaurant, 4301 Central Avenue, Columbia Heights.  You are welcome to bring food to the meeting if you want.
